Tile is sold on price and bought on wear. Here is the honest version of which type belongs where.
The colour goes all the way through the tile, so a chip does not show white underneath. Worth the extra rate anywhere that takes heavy foot traffic — shop floors, corridors, a house with a courtyard.
A printed glaze over a vitrified body — which is why GVT carries wood, marble and stone looks that full-body cannot. The right choice for bedrooms and living rooms where looks matter more than abrasion.
Softer body, lighter, cheaper, and easier to cut — which makes it right for walls and for floors that will not see much. Do not put ceramic in a shop entrance and expect it to last.
Thicker body and a deliberately rough face so a car does not slide on a wet ramp. Rated for vehicle load — ordinary floor tile will crack under a parked car within a season.
A textured face that keeps grip when wet. Non-negotiable in a bathroom floor and on an open balcony — glossy tile in a wet area is how people fall.
Lighter-body wall tiles with matching highlighters and borders. We keep the dado and the floor from the same series in stock together so your kitchen actually matches.
Room by room
Large format means fewer joints and a room that reads bigger. 2×4 ft at ₹688 a box is our best value for a hall or bedroom. Greys and browns hide Ranchi dust far better than white — worth knowing before you pick on looks alone.
Anti-skid on the floor, always. Our 6×3 and 6×4 large-format anti-skid at ₹65–75 costs more per square foot than a glossy floor tile, and it is the one place we would tell you not to economise.
A kitchen floor takes oil and water daily, so glazed and wipeable beats matt here, and anti-skid is sensible near the sink. For the platform itself, ask about granite from our Kolkata yard — it starts at ₹125 a square foot.
A shop floor gets more footfall in a month than a home does in a year. Full-body vitrified at ₹50 is only ₹6 above glazed and will not show white at a chip — over a five-year floor, that ₹6 is the cheapest decision on this page.
